Marin County, Sonoma County, San Francisco and Napa
Stinson Beach flat roof replacement projects require roofing systems designed for the demands of the Marin County coastal environment. This project features a high-performance insulating spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roof system that delivers seamless waterproofing and continuous thermal protection.
The existing flat roof surface was carefully prepared to ensure proper adhesion of the new system. Perimeter metal was removed and replaced with custom-fabricatedย copper edge metal, selected specifically for its resistance to corrosion in salt-laden coastal air.
This Stinson Beach flat roof replacement meets Californiaโs 2022 Energy Code requirements with R-10 continuous insulation. The system was achieved by applying 2.8 lb density spray polyurethane foam at an average thickness of approximately 1.5 inches. This insulating foam roof layer forms a fully adhered, monolithic surfaceโeliminating seams, improving energy efficiency, and preventing water intrusion across the flat roof.
A primer was applied where required, followed by a premium gray, high-solids silicone coating installed per manufacturer specifications. This coating provides UV resistance, weatherproofing, and long-term protection in a coastal climate. For added durability and aesthetics, a ยผ-inch gravel layer was installed.
The completed system delivers a Class A fire-rated flat roofโengineered for long-term durability, energy efficiency, and reliable performance in the coastal conditions of Stinson Beach, and backed by a comprehensive warranty.
