Inn Above the Tide

Overview: Working with McDevitt Construction, Wedge Roofing was contracted to install a new Spray Foam Roof for the Inn Above the Tide, a luxury hotel overlooking the San Francisco Bay in the heart of Sausalito, Marin County, CA.

Problem: The 7,000-square-foot built-up roof had exhausted its serviceable life, and ponding water caused by a poor roof design stressed the roofing system, enabling interior water infiltration.

 Job Challenges: This high-demand hotel required a short four-day window to complete the roof restoration. Furthermore, wind gusts from the San Francisco Bay can interfere with applying a foam roof.

Solutions:  After installing a roof-sloping system that diverts water to prevent ponding, Wedge’s award-winning spray foam team installed a spray foam roof utilizing perimeter windscreens to protect from wind gusts. A protective silicone roof coating was applied with an aggregate surface that protects the roof from UV rays.

Result: Designed and installed by Wedge Roofing’s award-winning spray foam team, the high-performance insulating foam roof provides a long-term, sustainable, renewable roofing system with positive roof drainage. The new roof was completed within four days, allowing the hotel to welcome guests.
