2014 “Pineapple Express” Storm
February 2014 Bay Area Rain Totals
A massive Bay Area Storm dubbed the “Pineapple Express” by meteorologists hit the San Francisco Bay Area this weekend with a wallop of rain. The much-welcomed storm drenched the Bay Area with 21 inches of rain falling on Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County and Healdsburg in Sonoma County soaked with 9.12 inches of rain.

Year’s Worth of Rain
According to the National Weather Service, some areas in Marin, Sonoma and Contra Costa Counties received more rain from this one storm system than for the entire year of 2013.
Marin County Storm Deluge
In Sonoma County, Occidental’s storm total of an astonishing 15.3 inches nearly equaled the 15.45 inches of rainfall the town received in all of 2013. In Contra Costa County, Concord’s rainfall total exceeded 2013 totals by .61 inches.
