Countdown to Qualify for Roofing & Home Improvement Tax Credit

Federal Tax credits for energy-efficient roofing and other home improvements will expire on December 31, 2013. This one-time federal tax credit covers 10% of the cost for eligible products used in energy-efficient home improvements with a $500 maximum rebate. Eligible products include energy-efficient roofing, windows and skylights that meet ENERGY STAR guidelines and carry the Manufacturer’s Certification Statement. The tax credit is for the homeownerโ€™s principal residence only, and the product must be placed in service by December 31, 2013.
