A recent article from Houzz detailed the historic renovation of the Bodega schoolhouse where a terrifying scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movie “The Birds” was filmed.
Built in 1873, the Sonoma County schoolhouse was in severe disrepair when Hitchcock filmed there in 1962. At the time of the filming, “there were holes in the roof, and, ironically, birds had taken over the second story” according to Leah Taylor, the current owner of the now beautifully restored schoolhouse.
